Mommy, I LOVE Blueberries...said My Britain

Well tonight I make Blueberry Breakfast cookies, in an attempt to be domestic....Ha Ha!!!!

While I was scrolling through Pintrest (my fav site ever); I came across this recipe, Blueberry Breakfast Cookies.  My 4 year old, Britain, was thrill at the mention of Blueberries and Cookies, and he was all about helping....

My cookies didn't turn out as pretty and the pictures on the web page, but the cookies and the batter made a big splash with someone....

Back to School Time

Well it is almost the time of year again...BACK TO SCHOOL!!!  I am one of those weird people who gets butterflies in my stomach when I see the stores putting school supplies out.  I am the mom who's kids have all their school supplies weeks before school actually starts.

Well this year, with all the new changes in our lives (see earlier posts); I felt we need a new "back to school" tradition.  While search Pintrest, I came across a cute idea: A back to school fairy.  I don't remember the blog where the idea came from, but I give the mom props for such a wonderful idea.  I did want to put my own spin on it, so here goes.....

I didn't want to get me boys a bunch a non essentials, i.e. toys, candy, etc., so I decided to get school related thing that were not on the supply list, but knew they could use.

With Jake's, who will be going in to 3rd grade, I got him things like a pencil bag for his backpack (surprisingly not on his supply list), football pencils to keep in his backpack, water bottle, underwear, new school outfit, utensil set for his new Spiderman Lunchbox, and socks.  We decided to let Jake use the backpack he has been using since Kindergarten, an L.L. Bean backpack.  It has been the best backpack ever. I still need to get him a new toothbrush....any maybe a few other things....

Britain is a bit different, since his is only going into Pre-K, he doesn't have a supply list.  I got Britain some Lego folders and pencils.  He LOVES Legos.  Some new crayons and colored pencils for his new pencil bag.  Along with underwear, socks and a new school shirt.  The boy has so many shorts.  I also got him a new water bottle, backpack, lunchbox, and  the book the night before Preschool.

I am planning on surprising the boys with the back to school fairy the night before school starts.  I can't wait to see there faces.  I am so excited.

Hope everyone has a wonderful back to school this year.

Domesticating Amy 101

Ok, I recently got married to my high school sweetheart, who also happens to be my youngest son's father. Yes, I know we did it a little bit out of order, but I am a true believer in things happening for a reason. Ronald (my new husband. I never thought I would like the way that sounds, but I do) is a neat freak and I am NOT!!!! My apartment is lived in....with two boys , it is the only way. But I have been trying very hard to be domestic.

So I have decided to work on a few projects a week. This week I made a Rolo cake, organized some of my craft supplies, and made homemade dishwasher detergent.

Here is my Rolo Cake

So I am going to continue to try a few projects every week. Hopefully I will get better at this whole Domestic thing. LOL

Bags of Chaos

I swear I am the Bag Lady! This is a typical site in my car. Travel (even trips to school and work) consist of over packing. Mothers must be prepared for everything.

Thriving on Chaos

Thriving on Chaos is an oxymoron if I have ever heard one, but in those three little word is the definition of my life. If it was not for the chaos in my life I don't think I would survive.

The source of my chaos: Jake and Britain. The loves of my life.

As I sit here typing the this blog; I am enjoying every giggle I hear coming from the living room. The giggles are one of the most fulfilling part of motherhood.

Back to the chaos I thrive on......Between Football practice, Football games, School stuff, Soccer Practice and Soccer Games, what would my life be at the moment. Very Very Boring. I know I complain about all this stuff going on in my life, but I think I would complain more if we were all sitting at home doing nothing.

I guess I have a love hate relationship with the rush of life. Weekday morning are crazy. Up at 6 am, dragging sleeping kids out the of the bed for breakfast, begging kids to get dress, and getting myself dressed. After all that, running out the door, hoping to get kids dropped off at school on time, then off to work for me. This is sad to say, but work is my time to rest.....kind of. After work is started all over again, pick up kids from school, soccer and football practice/ games, homework, dinner, baths, and bedtime. However weekend are a little less crazy......Soccer Games, Football practice, house cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, etc......
Again it is a love hate relationship.

What would life be without a little chaos........

Anything you build on a large scale or with intense passion invites chaos.
